Final Major Project

Typography is an import part of all graphic design. For the cover of my booklet, I’m interested in designing soley typographic. When searching, I came across this set of book cover designs overs for Samuel Becket’s entire works, each with its own bespoke typeface. They were designed by a London based design agency called A2/SW/HK, run by Scott Williams & Henrik Kubel.

I love the use of colours on the grey background and how they not only work individually, but also as a set. I’m unsure of the continued half of a word on a second line, but they seem to easily readable which is important.  I want to take the idea of allowing typography to dominate the cover of the booklet because it’s something I havn’t tried before. It also relates to hierarchy of newspaper designs using bold type to demonstrate importance, with the title being the most important header of the booklet.
