Designs: My ‘About Me’ page

This is a page I have struggled to design. It’s similar to that of the contact page. These two pages are less about the imagery and more about the quality and importance of the information that visitors seek to get after deciding to take action upon visiting the site. How the information is shown is important to make the reading and contact process as simple as possible.

I experimented with a few layouts but found it difficult to create a layout that follows the theme of the site with consistency. However it’s difficult to create consistency after the home page and work page are grid imaged layouts. When I first designed these, I didn’t consider the problem I may run into with these other pages. However because there are 5px white borders on each image separating them from the background, I decided to try a white background content area for this about page.

The next issue I ran into was how with little content, and position it so that it uses the space well. Which is where padding comes in.

One thing that I hadn’t thought about putting on my website so far, is Illustration. I will occasionally draw cartoons and love to put them into illustrator. Which is why I decided to include a cartoon of my own. Something to balance out the content and at the same time showcase more of my skills as a designer.
