Book Series

These are my final three illustrations with colour for my book series. I use both Photoshop and Illustrator to complete these designs. In Photoshop I tidied up the colours as when scanning on to a computer, you always loose a bit of detail. I also shrunk the images to the right size because I decided to watercolour them larger than actual size to allow for more watercolour effects and detail. I then cut out the perfect size using the outlines of the drawings, I held down shift and clicked on the space inside the lined tool layer, then selected the water colour and clicked ctrl and ‘J’ to create a new layer that had just that selection from the lined drawing. I then took that layer over to Illustrator, where I altered to opacity so as to not overwhelm the title text in front of the image and slotted it into place inside and behind the lined tool layer. I repeated this for every shape, added some extra darker areas on Photoshop on a few of the images.
