As part of my project, I’ve decided to steer away from my idea of creating ridiculous typography after a critique on my natural typography. What I considered ridiculous turned about to be typography that is very useful; the opposite of what i was trying to replicate.

Instead of using:

“I hope to be ridiculous until the day I die” – Oded Ezer

I’ve decided to focus on this quotation;

“I’m trying to remain as stupid as I was, as naive”

This quote relates to how he mentions that he will always play as hard with his work as an 8 year old boy would. So rather than trying to interpret ‘ridiculous’, I’m going to have fun with creating typography. Playing as hard as an 8 year old boy would and considering what is fun typography? What is fun and playful to me with typography. To guide my experiments I’ve decided to continue in basing my work around physical typography possibly playing with food, sweets, and objects.

The idea of food typography relates to how a child would play as i vividly remember my mum always telling me “Don’t play with your food”!

I could possibly experiment myself with my own chocolate alphabet and interpretation.

The chocolate could be dribbled, cut, shaped in any way I find most interesting.

Any chocolate dosn’t have to be the only ‘sweet’ food I try out, it could be;

Sugar, custard, smarties, icing, pick ‘a’ mix and jelly
